What Should Churches Look for When Making Hiring Decisions?

Here are five things Bill Hybels says churches need to consider when making hiring decisions.

  • Character – Is this a person of upstanding moral/ethical integrity?
  • Competence – Is this person good at what they do?
  • Chemistry – Is this someone that I would like to work with? Is there a natural chemistry between us?
  • Culture – Does this person fit into the culture of this church? Will this person fit into the culture of this community
  • Calling – Is this person called to this position? Are they following a calling or just looking for a job?
