Great post Drew. I know I think about that more and more lately. I know that I’m not as young as I used to be, because I’m feeling it!

We’re all terminal when it comes right down to it. It wouldn’t hurt for us to think that we have a slow eating cancer inside of us also, because we do in some way or another. I know for me it really helps to put what I do into perspective.

What is really scary is that statistics also say that 4 out of every 5 men you walk by at church have “inappropriate” relationships either with porn or with women(which is sometimes a product of sexual addiction and pornography). I imagine this statistic (now over 10 years old) is higher now…and also that women figure into it more than in the past…

Sad.

There is a big blog push happening at http://bibledude.net/2010/07/lets-blog-about-sex-icsex/ regarding this issue. A piece I have written may be there during sexual abuse week (I was a child victim and believe it was because of pornography even before the days of the internet.)

Good point Bernie, especially about getting personally involved with the people you’re trying to help. It might not mean getting involved in their personal finances, although it certainly could. The big idea is that money is not the answer, it’s a bandaid at best. The answer is a changed lifestyle.
